Prepare for Turkey’s expanding e-invoicing requirement
Turkey has one of the most mature e‑invoicing frameworks in the world, with mandatory e‑Fatura (B2B/B2G) and e‑Arşiv (B2C and non-registered businesses) already widely adopted. The most significant updates in recent years include the reduction of the e‑Fatura threshold to TRY 3 million and the introduction of mandatory QR codes from September 2023. Review your compliance obligations frequently to ensure alignment with the latest requirements.
What will change in Turkey
Turkey operates a centralised clearance model managed by the Turkish Revenue Administration (GİB).
- Businesses above the TRY 3 million turnover threshold and certain regulated sectors must use e‑Fatura and e‑Arşiv
- QR codes became mandatory on e‑Fatura and e‑Arşiv invoices from September 2023, with updated technical requirements published in January 2024
- Invoices are validated through the GİB platform before delivery, with e‑Fatura used for registered businesses and e‑Arşiv used for other transactions
Turkey continues to expand digital reporting and electronic document requirements, making invoice automation and compliance increasingly important.
